Hi, i have 3 sectionals (3 different set of airports, 2 different IP's,) running V2 and all has been working very well for 9 months, but now every 2 or 3 days it freezes on rainbow & other times it freezes and keeps the LED's on but some ones bright some ones dimmed

Any idea if something changed on AWC API that is causing this?

Any suggestion?

Thanks

I'm sorry for the hassles. I don't think anything has changed. And I can't think what could cause this. So do me a favor and go into basic settings and change the logging level to 'Debug'. Then once it happens again, download the logfile and post it here so we an look at it. Hopefully that will give us some idea as to what might be happening. - Mark

HI @markyharris What i found so far is that script is running without issues on my 255 led sectional, even when LED's are "stuck" scripts keeps running, so  i think that is a led communication problem, maybe is the LED matrix that i'm using, so i'm going to replace it and see what happens, and as it requires to do some assembly/disassembly will jump to V4.  😎

I thought of another possibility; The LED's can be latching on because of the high number of LED's and the load on the power supply. For a test, take the brightness setting and back it down. i.e. bring it from 255 down to 150 and see if the problem exists. We had another builder with a similar problem, and this solved it for him. You may not need to leave it at 150, you can try higher settings till it start happening again.

Let us know what happens. - Mark

@markyharris a new LED matrix arrived, tested it and it was the problem. Now all leds are working.

Now i have to move from V2 to V4

And as you said, having that amount of LEDs on high bright setting can drain a lot of current, so your power supply has to be prepared to provide it, i discovered this on my early stages.

Thanks for the help

Sweet! I'm glad you nailed it. It's always frustrating when things like this happen. But to me its the journey that's the reward. So it feels great when you are successful.

Send pics of the finished build. - Mark
